Why choose this enclosure

A practical shell for a custom indoor setup

The tent gives lighting, airflow and plant care a defined space. Its 600D Oxford exterior, reflective Mylar interior and steel support structure form the base. You decide which equipment completes the system.

01

Reflective interior for an enclosed light path

The Mylar lining keeps the main lighted area inside the tent and makes the interior easier to inspect.

Leave enough height for the complete equipment stack

The listed 70 in enclosure height must hold the plant, container, hanging hardware, light and the safe distance between the fixture and canopy. Filter and duct placement can reduce the usable height.

Confirm the final light distance, ventilation route and room ceiling clearance before assembly.

Choose the tent size that fits the room

FAQ

This 4 inch inline fan carbon filter combo provides the core exhaust and odor-control hardware for compact 2x2 to 4x4 grow tents. The package combines a ten-speed inline fan, refillable activated-carbon filter, 10 feet of aluminum ducting, timer, thermo-hygrometer, clamps, straps, and seals.

Real ventilation performance depends on the whole air path. Tent volume, equipment heat, filter resistance, duct bends, intake area, and room temperature matter more than a fan’s free-air rating by itself.

What is included?

  • 4-inch inline fan with ten manual speed settings
  • 4-inch refillable activated-carbon filter
  • 10-foot aluminum ducting
  • Digital timer
  • Thermo-hygrometer
  • Installation clamps, straps, and seals

Check the current packing list before purchase. A staged product image may include surrounding tent equipment that is not part of this ventilation package.

How the fan and carbon filter work together

The inline fan creates airflow through the filter’s activated-carbon bed. Air then travels through the duct and exits the enclosure. For odor control, every joint should be tight and most exhaust air should pass through the filter instead of leaking around it.

A filter adds resistance. Expect less airflow than the fan produces without ducting or a filter attached, and inspect the carbon media as performance changes over time.

Choose the four-inch size by system load

This kit is positioned for 2x2 through 4x4 tents. The correct fit also depends on light wattage, ambient room temperature, humidity, and duct routing. A compact tent with a hot room or long duct can be harder to control than a larger tent in a cool room.

Use a four-inch starting point when Recheck sizing when
The enclosure and heat load are compact The grow uses a high-output fixture
The duct route is short and direct The route has several bends or long runs
The intake path is adequate The room itself stays warm or humid

Installation order

  1. Choose an upper exhaust position and a lower intake path.
  2. Secure the carbon filter and fan with their own supports.
  3. Connect ducting with the airflow direction aligned.
  4. Seal and clamp every connection.
  5. Keep the duct as straight as the room permits.
  6. Start at a moderate speed and observe tent pressure.
  7. Record light-on and light-off temperature and humidity.

Manual speed and optional smart control

The fan includes ten manual settings for direct adjustment. It is also designed for compatible smart-system control. Before connecting any controller, verify the current port, cable, firmware, and manual rather than assuming compatibility from the connector shape.

The TheOneGrow smart tent controller is the current system reference for coordinated environmental control.

Four-inch or six-inch ventilation?

The four-inch package prioritizes compact equipment and smaller enclosures. The 6-inch inline fan and carbon filter combo is the comparison for larger 5x5 to 8x4 layouts or a system with a greater airflow requirement.

Do not size up only because a larger number looks safer. Excessive exhaust can make a small tent difficult to balance, while undersizing can leave heat or humidity uncontrolled. Match the system to measured conditions.

Maintenance and operating checks

  • Inspect clamps and ducting for leaks, looseness, or crushing.
  • Keep the fan intake clear of fabric and loose material.
  • Check the refillable filter media according to the current instructions.
  • Compare current airflow and odor control with the clean-system baseline.
  • Clean monitoring tools and confirm that readings remain plausible.

Frequently asked questions

Does this kit include a grow tent?

No. It is a ventilation package. Tent, grow light, circulation fans, plants, and growing supplies are separate.

Can the carbon filter be refilled?

The current product information describes a refillable activated-carbon filter. Follow the latest instructions for media type, handling, and replacement.

Will it remove all odor?

No ventilation product can guarantee that result in every room. Correct sealing, carbon condition, airflow, humidity, and maintenance all affect performance.

Is this the right fan for every 4x4 tent?

Not automatically. Calculate around the installed light, filter and duct resistance, intake, room climate, and target air exchange.

Build a short, sealed exhaust path

A matched four-inch package simplifies component selection, but installation determines how well it performs. Support each part, minimize resistance, seal the joints, and test the full enclosure before relying on it.
